Ok I have a test supply of 20mm FBR to make solid foam mega darts. If anyone is interested in testing some for me in a centurion, I will do 8 for 1 plus shipping as an initial batch. These are not useable if you still have the dart post in. They will be stock length so will feed thru the stock mag. They are NOT suitable for indoor use or use by children and will have a metal tip weight, glued INSIDE the FBR with a thick felt furniture pad as the tip. Photos as soon as I can make them.

I am not expecting a range increase for these, I think they will be heavier and the totally derped internals will not make it go faster!
What I am expecting is greater accuracy, better reliability and more predictable performance. TBH as nobody has made them before its all new! At some point one or the chrono would be good, stock with new darts. I will do the data for free, might put in some for postage. A modded one without barrel would then be useful.

Well I'm getting about 30/40ft with mine but I'd be lucky to hit the side of a barn.

Well at least my darts can't make the performance any worse! Will get building later in the week and PM you both as soon as your darts are done. Thinking about making my own mega rifle, the foam looks mean. Makes me think of a big air tank.....

The prototype, I am calling this the Vulcan Dart. It's a beast, look at the puny elite dart next to it!
This version uses 3 177 steel BB's as a tip weight. Full write up when I make a production one.

The only potential problem is the length, with the solid foam I can foresee some stability problems if the tip weight is too light. Only testing will tell.

This is essentially a Nerf baton round! Not sure how war worthy it will be, depends on velocity.

Cool I'm gonna strip the dart post out this week looking forward to testing these as the centurion has eaten 4 of the mega darts with its crappy mis feeds. I just dont think the mega darts are dense enough.

Wish I was good at making darts Sad

Looks good,

What I have noticed is with my centurion is that the darts have to be pristine, if not
it jams like a jammy dodger.

I am really looking forward to the weighted darts as I feel that's what the darts need more than anything else to make them more accurate.

I'm on my third pack of darts, but hey I lost about 10 the other day in the field behind my house

I saw somewhere a fix for the dart chewing antics, a good lube helps (har har) but apparently more recent batches in the US contain a fix for dart munching. Not seen how this was done.

I'm not willing to through darts at this thing if these work out it would be great, I'd place a big order for them but I'm already looking at new internals and switching to elites bbv may be helping me out with homemade internals.

This is interesting because I stripped mine down removed some locks and the jam door etc and then lubbed it all up (oooohh errr) with a quality silicon and it now jams a lot less frequent but I have also noticed you MUST be firm when you cock it.

I have been told that Hasbro have changed the breech design for the centurion to cope better. (They weren't jamming or chewing darts that much at all last night at the release party)

I bet they tried about 20 first and picked the best ones! How accurate were they?
All the flimsiness in the darts is clearly to keep 2 things, lower velocity and more impact absorbsion. The Vulcan dart above really doesn't compress much on impact. It shoots hard through my barrelled drain blaster!

Those of you who wanted test rounds, I have nearly finished them. PM me your postal details by Wednesday and pp email so I can get them out to you. P&P is 1 as they are light.
I have now put 4 177 BB's as a tip weight and have provided 2 sizes, full length, which includes the rubber tip ( oooer) and shorter ones which are the length of the stock dart foam only.  Use them and see what happens. Out of the OMP 1 I got about 100 ft with the short ones at around 35psi. They are mighty solid and leave goodly marks at 20ft and less.
