Can you do the up/down vote thing without the comments? That'd be an ideal halfway house. I'd suggest you borrow some of Reddit's rules about people asking for votes, however.

It's a complete pain in the plums but I'll look into it... but only because you're pretty.

I think having a dislike button is the first step towards becoming a petty, unwelcoming forum (*loud cough* Nerfhaven *loud cough*). However, if we could have the like button only, then it would allow people to show appreciation without increasing negativity on our forum.

Can we have bananas instead? Bananas are good. Good source of potassium.

If you mean off brand blasters you can just post it in the existing sales thread.

I'll discuss it with UKNW but it's a no from me. This is a forum solely dedicated to foam blasters.

Stealth mode.
A running forum I used to use had a tab that when you clicked left all content but changed every thing to a fairly non descript grey, removed all avatars and smileys.
Handy for work. Cool

Thanks for prompting on the Discord chat that this was here.  I have a suggestion for the forum.  Not sure how feasible it is, but when a post is edited can this show up in the Post Since Your Last Visit search section?

It would be useful to see what's changed on a post that I'm following.  I notice that if a post is edited I dont get a notification.

I know that one of you will say "but that will cause unnecessary traffic" etc, so while we're at it, why not have an option to choose whether to either tell everyone about the change you made, just tell those following the thread or tell no one when you go to submit your edited post.

I would quite like a nerflarp/continuous campaign game subforum as I'd like to get input from people here in making a nerfier Nerf larp and discussing gadgets that could be made and or used for them. But always feel like I'll be cluttering the wrong place.

This can be done to an extent. I could create a simple skin for the forum which will remove some of the bells and whistles. You would be able to access this in the 'Styles' dropdown in your user profile.

A good idea and I'm sure it's possible, but sadly not with my limited knowledge of HTML. We encourage members to reply to their own thread when they have edited the OP which has the same effect but edited replies are a bit more difficult. I'll have a think.

We'll discuss this in the next A&M meeting on Friday. As it stands the vast majority of members are not LARPers but generally content is relevant across the entire hobby but I'm sure we can find a small corner of the Internet to dedicate to Nerf larp discussion.

Thanks UKNW, wouldn't this encourage the double posting that is hated so much? Also, on a slightly related note (to reduce double posting), when a post is moderated how come the OP isn't able to edit the post afterwards - is there an option for a Mod to choose if a post could be edited or not.  I understand sometimes you would want to lock the post, but in my case yesterday I genuinely thought I'd posted in the right place and had the post moved to the correct sub-forum, which was great, but now I can't edit that post with links and whatnot.  Just thought there may be something that could be done Smile

I have a feeling ownership is transferred to the moderator partly due to the database technology used and partly to prevent removal of moderator edits. Smile

I think a user is only locked out of their post if a moderator makes a red box. A simple change in moderation etiquette should fix that.

Edit:

I was right. Moderators will change the way we move topics to prevent this happening.

Progress.
