Post Bargain Hunting  Reply with quote
Everyone seems really keen to gloat about the great bargains they have found on second hand Nerf. Let's face it, who doesn't enjoy a good gloat?

Deals on new blasters belong in the Nerf Sale thread but if you have found any nerfy treasures on eBay or Gumtree, at your local car boot fair or charity shop then share them here. I find that pictures really help to rub it in. The best David Dickinson wannabe will win bragging rights.

Not meanig to gloat, but I recently picked up 2 Deploys, 2 Mavericks 4 clips and two new packs of streamlines for the princely sum of...

Wait for it...

£4 + £5 p&p!

The listing described them as 'not working'. One of the deploys had a dart jammed in the bolt sled but the others were fine. The item description read "NREF GUNS". Sometimes poor grammar is acceptable... but rarely!

Post Car Boot sale finds Reply with quote
Now here's an area that doesn't seem to be covered so far on the forums,so I thought that I'd start one up.

Yesterday,I happened to be at the market, picking up some supplies for the other half, when I espyed a couple of car-boot stalls. Being the nosey person that I am,and always on the look-out for a bargain,I moseyed on over. Mostly the gear that was being sold was just bric-a-brac,but I did find something of merit.

1) A longstrike barrel,(missing the fore pistol grip.)

2) An 18 shot clip-mag.

3) A TOYTECH Predator PR1200 springloaded paintball gun, which does fire Nerf darts, though they're not what you're supposed to fire from them.

Needless to say, that I bought all three for the princely sum of 3.00GBP.

Thanks for that good hunting Dreadstar. I used to wander round the car boot sales but now, every Sunday I loose the battle with my pillow.

Perhaps you'll inspire me to go hunting once again. We shall see.

P.S

A little OT but I wonder if the concept of a car boot sale is known in the US. Mabey its just one of those perculiar British things. Perhaps Scouts can enlighten us as to whether this phenomenon exists across the pond. I know you guys have yard/garage sales but do people fill their cars with crap and go to a field with hundreds of other people with crap and sell it at 6am on a Sunday? It'd be interesting to know.

I've never had any luck at car boot sales Nerf wise, I once saw an Iron man springer but missed it by a few seconds, it was only 20p!!

I find most of my second hand Nerf at auctions. They are great things and depending on where you are the quality of stuff changes.

Does anyone have good luck in Charity shops?

Just received possibly my greatest ever eBay find for only £15!

A VGC limited edition Small Soldiers Supermaxx 500! Possibly one of the rarest lines of blasters after the Supertec line!

Hi Just joined club,

I recently picked up a Recon with all attachments and a Havoc EBF-25 both for £15,
Both at a boot sale and both from the same seller, who had several other guns and both work, no ammo though.

I saw a lot of Nerf stuff that day with one guy selling two Mavericks for £1 each (knew I should of just bought them)

This was Sunday just passed.

Chris

Nice find Chris! I keep wishing that I'm going to stumble across a Nerf Crossbow or a Longshot, especially the LS as I cant seem to find them on ebay for anything less than 50-100 quid :/

A crossbow would be very unlikely as I don't think they were ever released over here. Here's to dreaming though!

As for a LS, you can buy them from Toys 'R' Us. After a brief break, they are back in stock although they have officially been discontinued by Hasbro.

Hi,

Just back from the boot sale of Nerf dreams  Smile  Bought from one seller all of these items.
An eighteen clip and two six clips, clip system mags, some clip ammo and a Nerf Buzzsaw ball blaster with original balls,  Twisted Evil  also got a han solo transformer for my son all for the princely sum of £2.50  Laughing

Better pic of Buzzsaw

Then whilst on my way back to the car I spotted a Stampede blast shield, paid 10p for that.

Remember to check Gumtree folks, as I just bought an absolute mint, Stampede with three eighteen clips and one six clip all full with ammo and a new box of clip darts, only 2 miles from my house  £20.

My Nerf arsenal is growing nicely.

Happy hunting

Chris.

Just saw your post UK. We Americans do not in fact have any equivalent to your boot sale. We have plenty of yard sales and flea markets, but nothing like yours. Smile

Ho No!

I just won a Small Soldiers SupermaXX 5000.

Never seen one on eBay in the UK so I had to snap it up. May have to sell of half the arsenal to pay for it though. Watch this space.
