Tell us were you got your user name from. I got mine from the character ZERO from the game Megaman X, and I was born in 1996. I almost went with Sora96 being that I am a huge Kingdom of Hearts fan.

Sure, why not. I chose the name scoutsIX-3 because the Nerf Scout is my personal favorite Nerf blaster.

Being a sticky I assume it's ok to revive this pathetic thread? ha.

Had this username for at least 18 years now, used for pretty much everything from Eve to STO to well anything that needs a username.

Was very much into Tolkien when I was younger (I still am and yes I hate what Peter Jackson has done with the Hobbit films) and didnt just want to steal the name of one of the Istari so Saruman became Samuran... simples!

My forum name is the Latin version of my first name. Anthony.
I gained the nick because around 12 years ago, I was seriously assaulted and had my cheek shattered.
Because of the depression I developed, I lashed out at my friends.
One of them, a huge Buffy and Angel fan, saw it as a complete flip round.
Lovely, normal bloke, now a completely malevolent C you next Tuesday.
So, Anthony became Antonius.

I do occasionally go by Antonius Prime. As transformers was the very first thing I ever went full nerd on.

I've used this name "tbr" or "theboyrossy" for about 18 years now, I stole it from a local DJ on Rock FM as my first name is Ross.

Growing up/living in Blackpool there is plenty of arcade machines and I wanted something with three letters to put into the high score tables (instead of 'ASS' like everyone else does).

Nice revival tbr. I think ON, Boff and SSGT should post here too!

Actually, my Internet handle has always been Psycho316. I acquired Psycho by closing my eyes and pointing at a list of nick names on the counter at laser quest at a friends 8th birthday when I was also 8. Growing up in laser quest with that group of friends, it stuck. When I hit my teenage years and I got into WWE/WWF, I added the 316 in homage to Stone Cold Steve Austin, as in Austin 316.

As I got into nerfing at work (thanks to secret Santa gifts), I was the one who got into modding and collecting and the like while everyone else was happy with their mavericks and buzz bee tek 6s. Shortly a colleague coined my new handle after the boss walked into the workshop and the floor was littered with darts (I had introduced the workshop to a pair of volt modded stryfes and also my masterkey). After he asked what happened, my colleague pointed at me and said "ask Big Poppa Nerf over there!". Needless to say, at work it stuck and was often shortened to either 'Big Poppa' or 'Poppa Nerf'.

And yet, you're still one of the figures at the forefront of the UK community. Something must be done! Won't somebody think of the children! Razz

Mine's really not that exciting. Razz

It came about because I was struggling to think of a username for the DUAS forum (which is now pretty null and defunct anyway so go figure). I wanted something I'd easily remember because I didn't know how active I'd be or how often I'd be logging into that forum. As part of the premise of the assassins society is researching and hunting down other members I didn't want to give people a head start by using my name. It was at the start of my first year at uni and I'd literally only just left the cadets the week before, as a 4 star Staff Sergeant, (I aged out at 18yrs 9mths) so SSGT was just something I thought I'd easily remember. Strictly speaking it should have been S/Sgt or SSgt but I capitalised the lot to make it less obvious as to where it came from.

It was a friend of mine from Durham who created an account here first (some of you might remember ubershinysheep) and he convinced me to sign up here aswell. Since he used the same username on both forums I just followed suit and here we are today.

For a laugh I tried to come up with something else for "SSGT" to stand for but haven't thought of anything good yet. Razz

My UN is unimagineative and dull (a bit like me?)

When I first took my Nerf habit online, there wasn't much of a UK community. None in fact. This was a couple of years prior to the forum. I kept googling UK Nerf War hoping to come up with something but nada. Not a sausage.

It struck me that for any British Nerfers, this would probably become a fairly regular search phrase so I built my website around the name for better SEO. I never really intended to use it as a handle but when I found the forum, I couldn't think of anything more original.

I have had many nicknames over the years. Due to the nature of my profession, you spend large chunks of time with different groups of people and each come up with a different nickname (it's currently Kevlar, because no bullet could go through me (a fat joke)). I soppose I could have used one of those but c'est la vie. For good or bad, this is the one people know me by.

So there you have it. Mystery solved.

Nope - My dads side of the family are mainly from SE London (nearly UKNWs neck of the woods) . Oddly I dont get Uni banter about it which is weird.

I've used this username since my early teens. Its an old nickname. Its ironic as I am skinny and used to have long hair ( before baldness set in). Milofo is the Chinese name for the fat laughing Buddha statues.
