I vote for calling it  "Block War" for those who like Judge Dredd!

Call me Kenneth, that would be Drokking awesome Twisted Evil

As long as there are no Mutes I can go for the Dredd reference, as long as people don't get fed up with me saying "Double Whammy" to my blaster. I may even throw in some "I am the law" for good measure.

Your thinking of the comedy film Judge Dredd, with Stallone, the better film and far more true to the comics is Dredd, with Carl Urban.

Back to Nerf, the Magnus looks like a good Lawgiver  Twisted Evil

Both films have their merits, the former had some amazing special effects (a friend of mine has the ABC robot in his office) and some hilarious quotes.

I loved the ABC warriors so seeing that one in the Stallone version was great, despite him taking off his bloody helmet! Kev- that would be an amazing Nerf war item, an ABC warrior mech suit? Not sure if it would be any good for corridor wars like this one though.

We need to get dates set. If anyone else has wars in the planning stages, start fixing dates ASAP to allow us to work around you with some of the big stuff.

Your both right tbh,I enjoy both films, although nothing beats the original comics.

When I first saw the Stallone one, I thought it was stylistically perfect. Personally I hated the choice of enemy and the fact that he stopped being Dredd after the great block war sequence at the beginning and basically played himself as usual.
The new version was superbly bleak and grotty, just as the original mega city was in the comics and the bit where they drug the guy, flay him then chuck him off the top floor of the hab block into the quad to set an example was superb. I liked the way that Dredd never took his helmet off, didn't say much and was apropriately harsh, but I felt the plot took too much from "The Raid" which came out in 2011, with Dredd being out in 2012, which felt a bit coincidental. Agreed it was a pretty generic plot, which was fine in itself I suppose.
Oukie, nothing will ever surpass the comics, simply because of their tremendous variety of subject matter. I was a big fan of Chopper as a character, why there isn't a film about him is anyone's guess. I never understood why a game wasn't made of the mega city, it would be an incredible online setting.

I too love Chopper, there is a bit of a homage to him in the 2012 film you see his tag on a wall in the block

I grew up with my big brother buying 2000ad from issue 1.
I have several hundred issues up my loft pretty much all before issue 1k

But I have been buying all the complete case files and now have over twenty Shocked

I have a good few stand alone graphics taken from the comics as well, such as.
Chopper, Block Mania-sov war, Caligula, to name a few, I'm a collector of not just Nerf.

Your house is sounding more like my kind of place with every post! My cousin had the 2000ad collection.
