New Rival Blaster - The Rival Nemesis

New Rival blaster sighted courtesy of Winston from Nerf Singapore

I don't care what it costs - I'm in!
Treezy

Dayuum! Looks like a hopper fed, 100 round flywheeler. Even if it's only semi-auto it's still going to be pretty much the flagship Rival blaster. If this is going to be a thing, then it looks set to be a game changer for the Rival range for sure.

What'd be extra special is if the hopper just slips out as one unit, and a full one can be slipped back in place; as opposed to slowly feeding balls in one at a time.
old_man_nerf

Bet Hasbro wish they'd.... Wait, they did.

That looks like a(nother) rival blaster I can see being added to the collection.

I would much rather carry a small speedload bottle than a big, ungainly hopper in my pouches. 100 rival balls loose is not much volume and won't bang about as you move. I have tried several plastic bottles for speed loading, not found one that works yet.
Boff

Agreed, one of our Small Zip Dump Pouches will carry roughly 200 rounds and stuffing them into funnel on a hopper works pretty well. Smile
BISHOPII

Ooooh, that looks right up my street. Always like high-capacity blasters.

I dread to think the price of it however. Hopefully it isn't too expensive that it blows my Nerf budget to pieces.
Franksie

The rival mags make good speed loaders
dilanski

So what are we thinking, higher or lower than the price of a Khaos?

I exlect the price to go well up above  the Khoas!
100 balls arnt cheap and the blaster seems to be of the simular/almost same construction.
I do like it. Not my Cup of tea personally but I'd hate to be on the wrong end of this!

Aye, but surely the removal of the magazine will cut down the cost. It could also be that while the blaster holds 100 rounds, it isn't supplied as such. Sort of like how the Hailfire only came with half the magazines.
Franksie

The Atlas holds 12 but came with 24 rounds so that argument doesn't hold water, nor does the one that Hasbro will lower the price because there is no mag - this will be premium cost, likely equivalent or more than the Khaos at release
Minky

Drac's blabbing on about tubes but I'm looking at that image and it's definitely a hopper,  right?

The line across the clear bit is just the angled part of the shell that start above the grip and the balls are stacked.
Treezy

Yup, definitely hopper and not fan blown.

As for balls, all the Rival stuff is being supplied with extra balls; even additional 12 round mags get 18 balls.

What's really intrigued me is that if you look closely at the handle you'll see the recessd rev trigger, firing trigger, and above that an orange/red line, which looks like it could be a select fire lever....

Though chances are it's just a safety switch
Dazzle740

Now I'm not a hugh Rival fan to be brutally honest but even I must admit that blaster looks awesome, and I too agree with the above it looks like a hopper (paint ball style).
Northwind

I still can't muster any love for rival but that is cool. I really like the Khaos too but the lack of mags just kills it really. Problem solved! Pretty massive, though.
Waltzz

Loving this thing, we can call it a Khaos 2.0.

I would love to know how this thing works; highly doubt we are looking are fan type system but maybe a belt system used in a 'new way' (most likely I am completely wrong)

My guess would be that you will get 100 balls but not any extras like previous blasters. I would guess this is going to be a 100+ blaster, with it rapidly dropping to 80 or below with a few months of release.

Like i said it is kind of a Khaos 2.0 meaning that the awesomeness of a Khaos without the need for mags which to date still means buying additional Khoas's for extra mags.

I think the hopper style systems are the way to go for the Rival line.
Northwind

TBH if the Khaos is to stay in the line (and I'd be absolutely amazed if it doesn't, it's too new a product to chase into obsoletion) then this will be priced well above it. People are talking about the unit cost etc but that'll not be the deciding factor, they'll differentiate the products on price too.

Assuming it's a success of course- they might end up selling it for what they can sell it for not what they want to sell it for.
sewwes12

This could be the first rival blaster i get if the price isn't too bad. It looks great, and with a capacity of 100 it could last a short game without reloading.

If the Khaos is 89 then I'd be very surprised if this isn't 100-120

Does look very cool though
Aldegar

Still doesn't do it for me personally. Nothing in this line is not awkward in some way.
LordSparrow

Looks like out of dart's ghost buster hirricane, but the hopper is mounted on top of the blaster.
Zenif

Looks great and may even replace the RS! However I would want to check how well it feeds, rof may be an issue if it is just gravity fed. Also checking out the atlas the build quality of rival line and general clunkiness is not great. Still looks good however.

Edit: Looks like a proper 'hopper feeder' out of the box at 100fps beast:

2017.. is going to be an interesting year!

I am so jamming that hopper door lock and pouring tubes of rounds in the top Twisted Evil[/u]
Treezy

Just found Drac's review then realised someone had already linked to it  Sad

Looks very impressive, and plenty of potential for some modding. It's a big  'ol blaster though, so how long until there's a cut down version made by someone?
BISHOPII

Seriously though, I think I'm falling for this blaster. I love how how the Rival ammo jiggles around inside it like some sort of terrifying popcorn machine. I love blasters which are big, powerful and, most importantly, FUN Smile

I'll be personally saving up for one of these I think. It's going to be expensive I know, but I think it'll be worth the financial pain for what I'll be getting. I loooove huge heavy blasters and this one I think will be no exception. I know some people prefer cutting blasters down so that their more lightweight, but for me, big is always the way to go Very Happy

I completely agree! You had me at terrifying popcorn machine!  Laughing also big is better especially if it gives you lots of options internally!

Looks like I may just sell all my less used but more expensive Nerf stuff now.. ! Sell off the old drum mags and n-strike guns! I just went in the garage and it is shocking how many old guns and bits you just 'accumulate' .. May be a Nemesis and a Artemis worth in all that stuff Wink
