Drill Holster as a Nerf holster

I've been thinking about this for a while.

Some of the engineers at my work carry their battery operated drills in a belt holster.

The drills are a similar size to some of the smaller Nerf pistols.

I ordered one from ebay to see if it would do the job.

With it being belt mounted, it sits on my hip, so i may modify it so it straps round my thigh

It's perfect for my Firestrike.

For 4 delivered from the UK, or 2 from China if you're not in a hurry, i think this is great.

I can see this getting a lot of use at Foam Dart Thunder

Only time will tell.

First impressions are its worth 4, although it seems to be hard wearing, i imagine the read piping will come away eventually

From past experience with similar holsters the rivets tend to be one of the first things to fail as they tear themselves out of the fabric. If you can strap the bottom section to your thigh to stop it getting caught as much it will probably last a bit longer.

A firestrike's going to weigh a good bit less than a drill, even a cheapo holster will probably last ok.

Regards the hip mount thing, I actually like the smaller blasters sitting on my belt. The sidestrike is very similar and sits very naturally in its included holster.

Nice little find.

I have been looking for a holster for this exact blaster, let me know how you get on with the the leg strap?!

Drill holsters are a good DIY solution. They usually are made of texturised polyester which is rugged enough for most of our purposes. Sparky is correct that the rivets are a potential fail point but a quick bracing stitch with some Korbond extra strong thread would do the trick to hold them together. That edging should hold just fine, it's double stitched and while not polyester twill (stuff we use) it looks tough enough. Smile

I'd be interested to see how the drop leg conversion goes. The drill holsters are very good at being belt holsters, I'm not convinced by the need for one...

Any chance you could do some photos of other pistols in the holster, so that we can see what the fit is like?

I don't have a lot of pistols.

Strongarms, Mavericks, spectres and the likes don't fit

Anything smaller should be ok
