Angry PSA: Vote 2014

I don't care who you vote for, what you believe or whatever - go put your numbers on a ballot paper (European elections are PR not FPTP so it's not an X). If you're away from home and haven't bothered to register to postal vote, make sure you bother next time or vote via proxy.

If you don't support any particular party or don't feel the system represents you, fine, just turn up anyway and spoil your ballot. Draw a cock and balls on it if it makes you feel any better - just engage. A large number of spoiled ballots makes people sit up and think.

If you fail to vote, I will be a very unhappy bunny. Younger members of the forum, think about this stuff so when it's your turn in years to come, you're engaged and not walking into the system blind.

NB: This isn't a politics discussion thread, this is a get off your arse and engage with the system PSA.

NBB: I'm spamming everywhere that's appropriate in an effort to mobilise turn out, it's horribly low at European elections and the UK is notoriously bad for it.

EDIT: Just a thought, if you do spoil your ballot paper don't make it too obscene there are laws against that. Oh and in a brilliant episode of comic timing, there's been a military coup in Thailand - so vote, because not everyone is as lucky to at least pretend to be able to choose their representatives.

I agree, if you don't turn out and vote, you have no right to complain about the tossers, tax dodgers, fascists, creeps, pervs, perjurers, philanderers and parasites who will be elected to represent you!

On a personal note, that was my 1400th post to this forum, damn I am a sad git. Need to waffle less and mod more....

I'm struggling to work out which political party you are referring to there......

That sums up pretty much all of them. Hence why I'm not voting for any.
I will, however, be actively not voting, rather than passively. A mad scientist's got to make a point, y'know?

That's either bell tower talk or the most epic ballot spoil in the history of mankind... I can't decide which... Very Happy

Either way, the job's done now.

I endeavoured to describe politicians as a species. I am fortunate to have an MP with ACTUAL PRICIPLES, which has been a surprise, she even voted against her party on a number of issues. Many others have sadly not changed my mind, especially in higher government, and "the opposition" is certainly far too generous a description for the useless, unelectable, idea free bunch of placemen occupying the other side of the trough to our current well fattened political elite.

Not bitter, just bitterly dissapointed, I would vote for a "mad scientist" party like a shot, at least they would have ideas and conviction, hopefully tempered with the ability to look at situations objectively and act accordingly.

Me and my friend have decided to stand for the monster raving loony party next year Very Happy
OldNoob

That's the most sane political choice I have seen all day!

Best 500 you two will ever spend... Unless you manage to somehow not lose your deposit, I can't remember what the threshold is.

If we get into power, everyone who holds a full UK driving licence will receive a hovercraft - which may possibly be full of eels...
