Accustrike Darts - Sacrificing Distance for Accuracy?

I was browsing youtube and saw this clip:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_43mDTkMrY

In it the (presumed) Hasbro rep is explaining the features of the new darts and blaster line. He mentions that the accustrike darts are being marketed as the best dart for accuracy while elites will still be used and marketed as the best darts for distance. I think it's an interesting approach, but indicates that Hasbro still hasn't found the excellent combination of distance, safety, and accuracy that is koosh darts...

They go less far because they have more drag, a bit more weight and the tip mass is greater, resulting in a more arced trajectory.

Yup, that's what I was guessing just based on the size difference in the dart tip alone. I'm guessing they'll only be accurate to about 25 feet before they start dropping.

Ryan from MtB calculated they will spin at about 300rpm as well. He did a solid works simulation. Given that Elites are already the equivalent of  fourteen dollars for thirty over here I can't see any reason to buy a Hasbro dart.

Just use koosh.

I think we need some kind of... twisty koosh. Happy medium...

I imagine it wont take too long for a china clone to pop up.

Going on looks alone (working on the assumption its not a hollow tip), it doesnt look too hard to reproduce cheaply

Whether they get the materials / weight right for the design is a totally different kettle of fish though!  Razz
