Post Get Rekt at the Rec  Reply with quote
Decided to run a wee Nerf war for freinds and family today,

Plan was to hire my local sports hall, get the inflatable cubes in there and let the kids burn off some of that energy that comes with beeing cooped up during bad weather and eating too many selection boxes.

Also a good excuse for them to battle test their xmas blasters.

We had a good mix of players, 26 in total I think, boys/girls, kids and adults.

Played my favourite LOCKDOWN to start with.
Stalemate in the first round but the non bibs took the 2nd.

Next up was RESCUE SANTA, non bibs started to show their dominance here by both rescuing and then retaining the hostage in the 2nd round.

HvZ next which was fast and furious but lasted much longer than I expected it too, i thought it would be over too quickly in the confines of the hall but fast feet and loads of energy seemed key here.

I had planned on trying a new game, then completely forgot about it! So we went back to lockdown and non bibs won again.

Lots of "friendly" banter between teams at this point so i thought it the perfect time for CODE RED a kids vs adults free for all. I thought the adults would skoosh this but the kids were relentless and showed no mercy😈

It was hilarious 😂

Great excuse to blow off the cob webs, every one seemed to have a blast and we used it to raise a few quid for charity.

Thanks to everyone that helped or was involved.

Sorry, I forgot about you Big Al,😟

Thanks for organising it Rab. It was the first time I've taken part in one of the party scenarios instead of being a referee - there's a lot of running about and even though I consider myself fit I was knackered by the end!

Code Red was painful - when a lot of the kids know you as a ref they love to hunt you down - allowing them to use "Rab modded" blasters was not appreciated! Particularly my eldest with your modded Bigshot!

Thanks for the donation to charity - very kind of you and I know it's appreciated. Well done again 😊

Hahaha (or should that be hohoho?) are you two in an arms race to kit out youngsters to hunt the other down?

I think a boxing day tournament sounds like great idea for me and mine next year. I used to do it with Hockey and it was always a laugh whatever the temperature. I've also tried to strategically arm certain family members to try and stoke interest. I'm hoping to bring them on a grand tour of the UK Nerf wars as soon as I'm kitted.

The thought had never crossed my mind 🙄

Yeah I'm pretty sure we'll make this an annual festive fundraiser,
Great excuse to get rid of the crimbo cabin fever.
